Skype Crashes on Windows 7 x64

After installing Skype on my Windows 7 x64 laptop it would fairly consistantly crash, occasionally taking the laptop down with it.

1. Open cmd prompt (run as admin)
2. type bcdedit -debug off
3. reboot
